Become a Virtual Member of Harrison Tech Club

Students and teachers with very busy schedules can now become active participants in the Harrison Tech Club.  Some students are involved in basketball and/or Student Council and cannot attend our scheduled meetings.  Teachers already have incredibly busy schedules but would like to have a part in some of our activities.  Now, those folks came become virtual members of our club.

Joining as a virtual member is simple.  Just email a request to join to Mr. Glass.  He will send you an invitation to join the club as an "Author."  Authors may write and edit any portion of the blog.  Authors may fully participate in discussions and pose questions.  If you are not certain of how to do those things, it's okay.  Mr. Glass will be happy to meet with you at a convenient time and show you the basics of blogging.

Tech Club Expands - Teachers Invited to Join

We are happy to announce that the resources of Harrison Tech Club are being made availible to teachers as well as 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students.  The club meets from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. each Tuesday.  Students meet to practice computer skills as they work on the web pages of their Global Virtual Classroom project.  Teachers are invited to join the students and pratice using the technology tools they now have in their classrooms.  All members may blog about their experiences here on the Tech Club Blog.  Studnets can use their web-design skills to help their teachers with their classroom web pages.  This will be an excellent opportunity for students and teachers to collaborate on the uses of technology in our classrooms.

Beginning our fifth year

Our fifth year of Harrison Tech Club will officially begin on Tuesday, November 2.  Our primary focus will be learning the many skills that make us good members of Team GVC 10-06.  The Global Virtual Classroom Challenge is a major part of our activities.  Our other goal for this year is help each of our members establish themselves as effective bloggers.  Blogging is skill that is needed in the rapidly expanding world of Social Media.  There are right and wrong ways to blog and blogging helps us create powerful learning networks and friendships.  Personal Learning Networks are one of the next big deals in education.  This is going to be a great year for our club.
